This year we are really getting organised at the UKSRL, to tighten up on membership and risk assessments to make sure we are fully insured at all events.
Therefore, please be aware that you MUST be a full member of a surf lifesaving club, and hold the relevant competencies associated with this, in order to compete in a UKSRL league event.
The fee for entry this year will be £30, regardless of whether you do one, or more races, and there will be a cut off date for entry of Friday 23rd May to pay your fee.
We need to do this so that we can ensure everyone is a fully paid up member of their own club, as well as the UKSRL, to make sure we don't invalidate our insurance. If you haven't paid by the cut off date, and aren't also a full member of your club, you won't be allowed to race.
We are getting this out there early, and will remind you periodically, so no one can say they didn't realise what was required of them.
Also, the UKSRL fee covers you to race at organised surf boat events, but doesn't insure you at friendlies, or twilight sessions, so please do ensure that your club memberships and competencies are up to date.

There has been a major shift in our insurance this year as we have agreed to go back under the SLSGB umbrella, which will mean every rower will need to be a member of SLSGB. This also means we have access to SLSGB club IRB Safety Cover provision with insurance.
Event accreditation and insurance is provided by SLSGB. If you are a current member of a Surf Life Saving Club, your SLSGB membership will be included as part of your club membership. You should have an SLSGB membership number – ask your club secretary for it.
SLSA Wales has a different Memorandum of Understanding with SLSGB (the joys of devolution) – Wales rowers will need to obtain an individual SLSGB membership direct from the website: SLSGB membership
UKSRL membership will be £30 and this covers all three UK Surfboat Summer Series 2024 events (£10 per event if you row in all three). When you pay your £30 you must include your SLSGB membership number on the form, otherwise you will not be insured and we cannot have uninsured rowers competing in surfboat rowing events.
